We are committed to combating depression.
Many people suffer from depression and do not know who to approach and where to get information or support. Going to the doctors is often a very difficult thing to do initially as it is difficult to talk about. You can find help from established, national, organisations such as Depression Alliance.
If you are interested in joining a self help group then leave a message and contact number in the guest book or email us.

Seek Professional Help
If you think you are suffering from depression do not hesitate to contact your doctor. Perhaps surprisingly a lot of doctors are sufferers. They will be able to spot the signs.
Part of the trouble with depression is the sufferer is not always aware of what, and why it, is going on and need an independent view of the situation.
The first port of call must always be a professional.
If you are not comfortable going straight to your own doctor you may be able to see a different one at the same practice. Any doctor may refer you on to the psychiatric unit for assessment. This is sometimes a difficult step for the sufferer to make as they may still find it difficult to take in what is going on. Some doctors surgeries may have help groups for depression sufferers. A major part of the process is accepting that you are depressed.
The first step can often be the most difficult to take.
