Frankley Guitar Club

We are a local club that meets fortnightly in the Frankley High School and Community Centre, New Street, Frankley on a Wednesday evening. 7:15pm - 9:30pm. We have been in existence for 3 years. We are a performance based club in that it is a venue where people can come and learn about all aspects of guitar playing from beginner to advanced and then have a chance to perform a song for a nice quiet audience on the night. It is not typical of most clubs where the person with the loudest personality or instrument dominates the evening. Everyone has an equal chance to perform. Participants are not required to perform. They can just listen or perform with others. It is a very relaxed atmosphere. There is a 30 minute guitar lesson at the beginning followed by 1 hour of performance time in which people are welcome to perform something that they have prepared. The club is for 16 years olds and upwards.There is a good mix of styles and levels. Everyone is made to feel welcome and encouraged in their performing skills. THere is a £2 admission charge to cover the cost of the venue.
