What does a "Radio Shack" look like?
 |
This is one corner of a typical modest amateur radio "shack"… across the top row (l-r) are a power meter, antenna tuner, audio filter, Morse keyer (all home-made) and an SWR meter. Below these are a digital multimeter, wavemeter, and a home made 80-metre transceiver. On the bottom row there is a 144MHz linear amplifier with power unit, FT290 and FT790 VHF and UHF transceivers, multimeter and 12 volt power supply. Not shown are the computers, the Packet Radio system and the Eddystone and Codar short-wave receivers.
This equipment has been built and collected over 20 years, and many items have been purchased cheaply second-hand or built from inexpensive components. |
