Worcs Junior Cup Triumph
 | On Wednesday 13th March 2002 at Worcester City's ground Littleton played Malvern Rangers in the final of the Worcestershire County Junior Cup and eventually won 3 -1.
For 89 minutes Littleton pretty much outplayed Malvern but could not find the back of the net. Early in the second half however Malvern somehow managed to score and were hanging on to their 1 - 0 lead. Eventually in the 90th minute Des Cox was tackled in the Malvern box and the ball broke loose to Mat Edwards for Littleton and he squeezed the ball into the goal. Littleton supporters were elated and knew that their team had the fitness and skill to now win the game.
Two goals in extra time saw the better team lift a magnificent trophy.
Pictured are Team Captain, Curtis Major and team Manager, Andy Robbins with the trophy. |

Challenge Urn Exit
Littleton were beaten by Division 3 opponents Coleshill in this Challenge Urn Semi final, 2nd leg. Having drawn 0 - 0 in the 1st leg at Littleton they went down 3 - 1 at Coleshill. The home side looked the brighter team to begin with and scored after 17 minutes. On the stroke of half time Littleton equalised through Des Cox and began to compete. Despite Coleshill starting strongly in the 2nd half, Littleton weathered the storm and were having the better chances until a dubious penalty was awarded against them and Coleshill converted. Littleton continued to press forward but this allowed Coleshill opportunities and it was no surprise when they scored their 3rd goal in the last minute. Despite the disappointment of losing for the first time this season Littleton can still win Division 3 and have the Evesham Hospital Cup Final on the 4th May to look forward to. |
Littleton Go Top 1/4/02
Littleton beat Halfords 2 - 1 on Bank Holiday Monday to go top of the Division 3 table. They are now one point ahead of Halfords and a game in hand. It could well go to the last game of the season to determine the eventual winners of Division 3, Littleton v Halfords at Littleton on Bank Holiday Monday, 6th May.
On Monday 1st April however, in a memorable game for Littleton fans, Darren Reeves was the hero with a goal in each half.
The visitors began brightly but Halfords held on until Reeves struck with his first goal. The home side began to play well but Littleton coped relatively easily. Then, disaster for the travelling fans when Halfords scored to equalise.
Halfords came out for part 2 with a determination to win and went very close when they hit the cross bar and upright of Littleton's goal. Eventually Littleton worked their way back in to the game and, with two minutes to go, Reeves deflected an Edwards effort in to the Halford net.

Wilde scores Littleton's 100th
On the 20th April, at home and against Knowle Reserves, Littleton started the day with 97 goals scored this season in Midland Combination Division 3.
In a tight game it was Chris Bate who scored in the 23rd minute and the home side went in at half time 1 - 0 up.
Very early in the second half Curtis Major made it 2 - 0 and shortly after that, in the 52nd minute, Ady Wilde came through with Littleton's 3rd on the day and their 100th this season.
Knowle pulled one back but Cox grabbed a 4th to settle the game. |
Division 3 Champions
Saturday 27th April and Littleton grabbed a very late winner away to Chasetown. In difficult conditions, due to the very poor pitch, Chasetown put up a determined performance with both teams squandering the few chances they had.
Just when everyone thought it would end in a 0 - 0 draw, up stepped Darren Reeves to lash home a right foot shot to steal the points.
Later that evening Littleton's nearest rivals for the title, Halfords, kicked off their match. This ended in a 0 - 0 draw and Littleton took the Division 3 title.
Littleton now see out the season with home games against Droitwich on Wednesday evening 1st May and Bank Holiday Monday 6th May against Halfords. The team are determined to maintain their unbeaton record in Division 3 despite having won the title. In between these games they hope to add to their trophy haul with a win in the Evesham Hospital Cup Final at Evesham United's ground on Saturday the 4th May.
Congratulations to Andy and his team. |
Evesham Hospital Cup winners too
The season ends on a high for Littleton with a win against Malvern in the Evesham Hospital Cup on Saturday 4th May at Evesham United's ground. This adds another trophy to the Worcs Junior Cup and Midland Combination, Division 3 title already won this season.
5 - 1 up at half time, Littleton were put under pressure by a re-shaped Malvern in the 2nd period but ended the game comfortably with the 6 - 3 result. |
Unbeaten !!!!
Division 3 Champions Littleton hosted their final game of this season with Runners Up, Halfords on Bank Holiday Monday, 6th May.
Mr Norman Harvey, representing the Midland Combination, presented both teams with their trophies before the game and Littleton also brought out the Worcs Junior Cup, Evesham Hospital Cup and Charity Shield (already gained this season) to make an impressive display for the photographers.
On an overcast day, determined to remain unbeaten in the League, Littleton put up a dogged performance against a Halfords side determined to prove a point. The 0 - 0 result seemed a fitting end to the season and Littleton wish Halfords success in the Challenge Urn on Friday 10th May against Coleshill.
A wonderful season and the Committee of Littleton FC would like to congratulate Andy and his team. We would also thank everyone who has supported us and hope to see you all in Division 2 next season. Watch this space. |
