Redditch v Kidderminster (12/12/2006, Handicap)
Board 1. T.Robinson (146) 0.5 v J.Wrench (165) 0.5
Board 2. G.Stanton (113) 0 v J.Friar (149) 1
Board 3. P. Wood (91) 0 v M.Bissell (142) 1

Board 5. D.Abrahams (80) 0 v J.Gittus (122) 1
Result Redditch Win 5 - 3.5
A handicap of 3.5 left Redditch needing two draws or a win. Tom secured an excellent half by holding John to a draw but this left Redditch short by half a point, however the saviour came from an unlikely source - David Close was three pawns to the good when he kindly handed his queen to Richard, who accepted the gift immediately.

Although on the night the match result read 4 - 2 to St Johns, unfortunately St Johns board 2 was not registered and therefore the match result was adjusted accordingly.
So in the end two excellent draws from both Tom and Giles proved to be important.
