LURCHER SHOW/RACING 2006
 | July 30th 2006 the Worcester Whippet Racing Club played host to their 9th Annual Lurcher Show. Blue skys and sunshine brought an array of smooth and rough coated lurchers, from various parts of the country to Perdiswell Park. The atmosphere was very relaxed and the showing commenced at 11am with contenders aiming to win supreme champion, plus qualification for The Midland Game Fair and Pride of the Peaks. (List of Results to follow) The Racing again was organised very well, the track was in immaculate condition and again the winners of each final qualifying for The Midland Game Fair. Simulated coursing was first to take place and the lure zig zagged across the track with two dogs chasing hard, some hard fought races took place and eventually two dogs were left for the final (results to follow) The straight racing was for over 23" and under 23" and again hosted some very close contested heats. Both finals ended a splendid day (results to follow) Thanks to all the members who worked so hard throughout the day making it one of the friendliest meetings on the calender. If you didn't attend make sure you have a space on your calender for our 10th Lurcher Show/Racing meeting in 2007 |
