Results 27/01/2008

Before racing today a visit from Robert Meeks the Osteopath to check all dogs are fit and well for the forthcoming season. A few niggles but I think everyone was given the all clear to race.

As it is the last race meeting of the month today all dogs carried 1/2handicaps, (be it for winning or vet/pup allowance)

First race of the day was heat 1 of the Handicap racing with the winner being Minty 23+1 1/2 (24 1/2) second was Kinky Boots 20-1 (19) heat 2 next with winner being Veuve Cliquot 28 and second being Fill Ur Boots 18. This then made for a four dog final.

Winner of the Handicap final was Minty 24 1/2 for the second week running! (Congratulations Minty) from a fast finishing Veuve Cliquot 28 in second place. Third was Fill Ur Boots 18 and fourth was kennel mate Kinky Boots 19.

Scratch racing next with the winner being Where is the Love (for the second week running! well done Danny) and runner up was Choose Me (only a youngster, who I tip we will be hearing a lot more about in the future)

Lots of trials with pups and dogs/people giving their dogs a run to see if they take to racing.

One who particularly took my eye was a black bitch named Ebony, she was trailed for the 1st time last week, and took to it like a duck to water, or should that be dog to racing? This week she was placed in the traps and again came out as if she had always been raced. This is another one for the future I think and couldn't belong to nicer people.
