News at Worcester 16/03/2008
With the British Whippet Racing Association Bend Championships coming up on Sunday 3th March 2008, dogs have been racing on the Sunday at Westhoughton and Highgate Greyhound Tracks to get ready with some practice for this top event of the year.
Therefore for the past few weeks we have been trialing on a Saturday afternoon.
Quite a few pups on the scene at the moment so lots of practice needed, as the Bend Championships are followed by the BWRA Puppy and Yearling Championship at Old Hall WRC on Sunday 6th April 2008.
Sad news from Worcester at the moment is that after trialing and running so well, Mark & Andrea Jones' Alfie (Dinky Boots) Outbound x Troubelle has broken his wrist.
He has been getting ready for the BWRA yearling Champs and showed great promise, but on coming back on the lure he knuckled over and went down.
Not much luck for the Jones' as their other pup Louie has recently done a Tibia and has been at the vets, but hopefully is now on the road to recovery and swimming to get back to fitness.
Our best wishes are sent from all at WWRC and hopefully both will be back to full recovery soon
Nicks Where is the Love is also on the injury list after a torn gracilis injury resulting in a six week lay off.
On a happier note congratulations to Pat & Bob Cope with Loxley gaining runner up last Sunday at Shrugborough Game Fair, only a young dog and showed very well, she also gained success with with two of her other dogs, Midas and Fenn.
Tony has been lure coursing in Banbury with his two Billy and Flash who again ran well.
Pauline & Nick with Demonic Love winning the No Limit Final at the New National Whippet Racing Federation Bend Derby at Westhoughton and getting runner up at the BWRA Tyrone Bend Open the week after, Well done Roo!
Trails today Sunday 16.3.08 with us being joined by two new lurcher pups, who enjoyed a short hand slip. One chased well, the other needs more practice. Litter brothers and so different, one smooth coat and one is rough coated, but both gorgeous looking dogs.
Maria & Nicks Veuve Cliquot enjoyed a run stretching out and blowing away some cobwebs, as did their other two dogs Me Too and Choose Me. |
