Welcome to Young Enterprise, Wyre Forest

Young Enterprise is a national education charity founded in 1963 to forge links between schools, commerce and industry. Its mission is to inspire and equip young people to succeed through enterprise. We do this by operating a number of programmes for young people on a learning by doing principle. In 1999/2000 over 140 students in the Wyre Forest area participated in the Company Programme and Team Enterprise. They were guided, encouraged and taught by volunteer advisers from local business. COMPANY PROGRAMME Delivers exciting, practical hands on business experience to young people. YE students aged 15 - 19 are in involved in setting up, running and eventually winding up their company over the course of an academic year. They elect a board of directors, raise share capital and market and finance a product or service of their choice. At the year-end they present a report and accounts. TEAM ENTERPRISE Similar to the Company Programme with material tailored to meet special educational needs and can run over two years. The success of all programmes relies on the active involvment of volunteers and support from business. Volunteers can make a real difference to current life and future potential of the students they support.
