Giving young people a purpose in life
The groups caters for Boys and Girls from the age of 6 up to 14½ with an option of becoming a Young leader at 14½ years.
We have our own Scout Hut which is located behind the Church Hall on Front Street, Acomb, York. It is not the ritz but is ideal for Scouting needs.
Our group starts with our Beaver colony which caters for 6 to 8 year olds and meets on a Thursday between 6pm and 7:15pm.
The next section is Cubs which caters for 8 to 10½ year olds, these meet on Monday 6:30-8:15pm and Fridays (Boys only) between 6:30 and 8:30pm.
The senior section is the Scouts with an age range from 10½ to 14½ year olds and meet on a Friday between 7:00 and 9:00pm.
We have a number of young leaders who want to offer younger members experence of activities that they have been tought during their time in the group.
We also have a number of Helpers who regulary attend a section but do not want to be a warrented leader and attend the required training courses.
All our Leaders and Helpers have been CRB checked (Police checked) and attend the required Scout Association training courses.
Anybody interested in either helping or sending their children to the scout group please do not hesitate to contact myself and I will be able to show you many pictures of activities the group carry out and also notify leaders before the arrival of your child on the first night.
