YOUNG VOICES MUSIC GROUP PROMISE TO AIM FOR A NUT FREE ZONE.
Young Voices is a music group held for 4-8 year olds and ages 8-11, at Hempland School. The session is taught by Ruth McCartney.Ruth has personal reasons for making the session a nut free-zone and includes a message to that effect to all parents bringing children to the sessions, which are held on a Wednesday evening. Ruth also asks that no food should be taken into the session.
This may be the ideal activity for your child if you are looking for a safer environment for an out of school activity.
If you are interested and require further details ring Ruth Mc Cartney on 01904 426308
Finding activities and venues that are able and willing to cater for your allergic child can be troublesome. It may take some courage on your part and a great deal of reassurance from whoever will be caring for your child during that time.It may also be that your child has a longer 'settling in period' and a lot more consultation is required about the group's activities.
The Anaphylaxis Campaign produce leaflets relating to caring for pre-school children at risk from anaphylaxis,(see links)or contact us for further advice.
Do you know of any 'allergy aware'social groups? What problems have you or your child faced? E-mail us so we can share this with others.
