How to Join Haxby Players

Haxby Players welcome new members. Any one interested in acting, directing, back stage, props, front of house will be welcome, beginners or experienced it doesn't matter.

We put on two full length plays a year. We have a varied repertoire, including:- comedy, farce, drama and period pieces. We also have the luxury of doing plays in the round or on a stage. We also produce short plays for competitons/festivals when we can.

We are a friendly bunch and would love to hear from you. Please e-mail haxbyplayers@york.communigate.co.uk and the Secretary will get back to you with our next meeting date/time and current membership fees.

Being a member entitles you to a ticket to each of the full length shows.

Social Scene

We have a lively social scene at Haxby Players. After most rehearsals we retire to a local hostelry, either 'The Tiger' or 'The Cottage Inn' in Haxby.

There is always an after-show party (time to let our hair down) and being thespians we are not shy!!!

MEAL OUT

Haxby Players enjoyed a wonderful meal at the Ashfield Restaurant in April. Mmmmmmm. We support the training of the chefs and hoteliers of the future, and enjoy a jolly good meal for little cash. The theme of the last night out was :- "Put those lights out", (war time fare - for those who can't work it out).
Don't miss out next time we go !!
