The missing link

In researching our family history we come to a dead end with a child born out of wedlock. The child was given the mothers surname of Lawton. The father was Howard "Augh" or "Aygh". We are not not sure of the correct spelling of the last name but hopfully someone will recognize the origin. The child was named Joseph Henry Lawton and born in Penistone (we understand that it is near Leeds) he was born in 1839. Joseph and his wife Martha (Walker) Lawton had 6 children all born in Worsbridgebough, Yorkshire. Their names are Sara, Ben, John, Lucy, Laura, and Fanny. All were born between 1865 and 1877. It is important to our family to locate some history of these ancestors if you can give us any help it would greatly appricated.
