Big Night for Scottie
Melbourne got off to a steady start before the loss of the wicket of Will Nicholson [11] in the 5th over, the task once again fell to Greg Nesbitt and Ian Scott to get the runs. Nesbitt [34] fell to the bowling of youngster Dan Davies in the 8th over and Scott was joined at the crease by several of the middle order who fell in quick succession to the bowling of father and son D and A Healey. Scott was caught out for 41 by Davies in the 15th over. Luckily for Melbourne Dave Coe [10no] and Robin Miller picked up the memento and steered Melbourne to a total of 126 off 18 overs. A Healey 2 for 7, Davies 2 for 28
In reply Wilberfoss got off to a steady start before the loss of B Way [19] in the 7th over. Melbournes bowlers seemed to struggle as the 20 extras from the game proved and there was a time when it looked like Wilberfoss had the upper hand but with couple of good dismassals from Joss Room and a change of tactic by Melbourne which saw Ian Scott emerge from behind the wicket in the 15th over to be replaced by Greg Nesbitt, which proved a good move as one ball later Nesbitt had Lofthouse caught behind for 54 from the bowling of Joss Room. Scott rounded off a good night for himself by bowling the last over and picked up 2 wickets.
Scott 2 for 9, Room 3 for 15Many thanks to the match ball sponsor Blaser Cafe |
