Panda Playgroup is a long established part of the
Copmanthorpe community. As a non-profit making
organisation, our Management Committee consists
entirely of volunteer parents who work tirelessly to
ensure the smooth and continued running of Panda.
Indeed, without the dedication of these volunteers, the
Playgroup would simply not be able to function.
The various sessions are run by a small group of
Playgroup Assistants, supported by a fully trained and
qualified Supervisor. In line with our community-
based principles, we also ask that our parents join a
Duty Rota to provide help and support to the team on
an occasional basis.
All children in the village are welcome at Panda, from
babies through to four year olds. Children start off at
our “Tiny Tots” group, which caters for babies and
toddlers up to eighteen months. From eighteen months,
the toddlers can join the Sticky Mitts sessions, which
provide a more stimulating and creative environment.
At age two and a half, they then join the main
Playgroup. In addition to these, we also run a “Four
Plus” group for those children who are preparing to
start School.
