herrera/bate ancestors
looking for help with family tree. My great great grandfather Patricio Herrera left valparaiso in 1864 to settle in wales, UK. We know he was born in Conception in 1849.He was a sailor then became a miner. His mother was called Felipa (possibly Cervantes), his birth father was called Hermenegildo Herrera ( he was an outfitter) and his step father was a Mr Bate (possibly an english doctor), he had a cousin Carolina (possibly with the surname Masafierra).We know in 1861 he was living with his mother and step father at 'the chemists shop in Coquimbo'. Do any of these names mean anything to anyone? Can anyone tell me who owned the chemists shop in Coquimbo in 1861? and would there be anyone willing to try and locate a copy of Patricio's birth certificate - I have his full date of birth and place.Please email me and let me know - skeletons in the cupboard not a problem.
