VINA DEL MAR, THE JARDIN CITY
 | The picture showthe pintoresque "Carritos con Caballos" typical transportation system between the city and the beaches, about year 1950.
About 1950 Vina del Mar was a pacific and placentere city.
To day it is the center of the Vina del Mar Music Festival, the main music festival of Latin America.
At the time the festival is celebrated Vina suffer a severe transformation. People all around the World are comming to participate. Many artist make his first debut at Vina, before they become famous.
But the old Vina still exist in every corner of the city and it be noticiable after the torment of the festival is over. Then, we are able to evocate scenes like this of the picture taked about 1950, when the people are going to the beach using this special and curious system of transportation. |

Recreo was a very special and popular Social Center. It had a big and beautifull pool.

 | Agua Santa is the last part of the road comming into Vina del Mar.

CLASSIC MIRAMAR HOTEL
 | Miramar hotel was the most beautifull hotel of Vina del Mar. Part of the hotel was inserted inside the ocean, were a natural pool was arranged
over the farallones.
Today, Miramar hotel has been desmanteled, and no body knows the future of this spectacular resort. |

AVENIDA LA MARINA VIEW
 | Avenida La Marina is one of most traditional avenue of Vina del Mar. The road is going around Cerro Lo Castillo, were many interesting castel and wonderfull house has been constructed. One of the main is Castillo San Jorge.
At the plane was installed a Moai or tipical statue from Rapa Nui (Isla de Pascua) wich belong to Chile.
La Marina avenue start from Ecuador street and reach his end at the Caleta Abarca beach. At the begining, the avenue run at the border of the little river "Estero Marga Marga" and go straight in the sea direction. Reaching that point the avenue run around the Cerro Castillo and the coast border. This is one of the most famous atraction of this city. |

THE AUTOMOTOR TRAIN
 | The pidture was taked about 1950.
The train "Automotor" was runing between Valparaiso and many liitle city close to the port.
The far station was Quillota and the train was crossing Limache, Quipue, Villa Alemana, etc.

LOS LILENES, A LITTLE BEACH
 | Los LIlenes is one of the beutifull little beach on the road betheen Vina del Mar and Con Con.
The other beach is Cochoa. All the road extend at the border ocean, creating a magnificent marine spectacule. |

THE MOST ROMANTIC CASTEL
 | The picture show one of the most wonderfull and traditional inmage of Vina del Mar. A Castel with part of it inside the ocean.
From the interior you can look the ocean in the same way you were in a ship.
Today, the castel have been transformed in a Sea Marine Museum.
By the way, this image was the theme of the first phothography I was taking in my life. |

 | | This was the type of train machine used about the 50s bewtheen Santiago and Vina del Mar. |

VINA DEL MAR FAMOUS CASINO
 | The Casino of Vina del Mar is one of most famous of Southamerica. Here we can see the main enter.
Today, the casino have been transformate in a more modern building. At the interior have been instaleted a bunch of player machines identical of that existing in Las Vegas.

BELLA AVENIDA LA MARINA
 | La Marina Avenue is one of the most beautifull road of Vina del Mar.
Mainly it is a peatonal road. It start in the corner of Ecuador Street and run all over the the Estero Marga Matga and the seaside.
Walking on this unique avenue of Chile you can see the Wulff Castel and the MIramar Hotel (To day destryed)

VIANA DEL MAR IN 1880
 | This is a very uncommon picture of Vina del Mar in 1880.
More than a century ago, Vina del Mar almost does not existed like a city. People visiting the palce founded another beautifull and alone beach.
A few houses were at the seaside, but nothing more.
