PNG Imperfs

At a recent UK auction (Sep 2003) the following lot was sold for £110:

1987 Anemone fish 17t, 35t & 70t, each vertical UM imperforate pairs. (6) [UMM ]

Double overprints at Status International (Auction 215)

4397 2001 Surch 50t/25t Sydney 2000 Olympics, error opt DOUBLE! TR cnr imprint blk of 4. Superb MUH. Only 1 sheet of 50 existed so only 4 imprint blks of 4. As 1 of the opts is diagonally misplaced so the appearance of the double opts greatly changes across the sheet from overlapping in TR cnr to widely spaced in LL cnr. Great new discovery of which only 1 sheet was found & bought in Boroko Post Office in Jan 2002. Striking item & great addition to either a PNG or an Olympic collection. Ceremuga AIEP photo-cert. Status: SOLD at A$3500 Description: 2001 Surch 50t/25t Sydney 2000 Olympics, error opt DOUBLE! LL cnr imprint blk of 4. Superb MUH. Only 1 sheet of 50 existed so only 4 imprint blks of 4. Status: SOLD at A$3100 Description: 2001 Surch 50t/25t Sydney 2000 Olympics, error opt TRIPLE! TL cnr imprint blk of 4. Superb MUH. Only 1 sheet existed so only 4 imprint blks of 4. As 1 of the opts is greatly shifted downwards the 50t appears in the sheet margin at base just below the bottom row of stamps & is in fact missing from the top row of stamps so the 5 upper stamps have 3 opt blks but only 2 opt "50t". Great new discovery of which only 1 sheet was found & bought at Boroko Post Office in Jan 2002. Spectacular item & great addition to either an Olympic or a PNG collection. Ceremuga AIEP photo-cert.
