This item was recently sold on E Bay and shows a previously unrecorded CDS dated 1932 for the KAVIENG post office
Members are invited to comment on whether they think this is a forgery or an exciting new addition to the postmarks of New Guinea.
Forgery confirmed
Several members have confirmed that the Kavieng CDS is a forgery and only appears on high value stamps of New Guinea. The cancellation was first mentionned in the June 1987 issue of PNGC (#161) by Anders Rhodin.
