Origins of the REDSTONE Surname.
The REDSTONE surname most probably owes its origin to the small village of RADSTONE in Northamptonshire England. In 1281 Isabella de Revier (the widow of William de Fortibus) called upon William of RADSTONE to manage her Isle of Wight estates; she also had estates in Devon and at that time was the richest lady in England.
(N.B. REDSTONE, REDSTON, RADSTON, READSTONE and REEDSTONE are most probably different spelling variations of the original surname).

In 1301 John REDSTON, the son of Joan & Roger REDSTON, along with others cut down corn belonging to John Beauchamp and took it away with them. They also drove two hundred sheep from the Beauchamp’s fold and took the servants of the house prisoner. However the Earl of Surrey forgave John REDSTON for his felonies and John received a royal pardon.
