The Haw Family
| My earliest HAW ancestor is William Haw. On the 1841 census William, a farmer of 34 acres gave his age as 71 and his birth place as Wetherby. The most likely candidate is a Willam Haw who was baptised in the parish of Spofforth on 8.3.1780. His father is given as William Haw also and he has three sisters: Jane (1776), Elizabeth (1778), and Mary (1782). There is a village called Wetherby in the parish of Spofforth but I am still looking for more evidence to make the connectoin more definate. I would love to hear from anyone who is descended from this family. |  |
