Wining and Dining . . .

Choir members were invited back for refreshments to the garden of Canon John Manchester after singing Choral Matins on May 20th. After a week of disappointing weather the sun shone brightly! The service in Old Malton Priory was a joyous occasion, and after sharing Canon Manchester's hospitality, many choir members adjourned to the Wentworth Arms for a delicious lunch. "A definite success," was the verdict of all who went. When are we going again?!!

. . . and more . . .

Emma certainly enjoyed herself and it wasn't just the food. Someone else looks pretty happy too!

Garden Delight

On a rather grey evening in June, members of the Singers visited the magnificent garden of international flower arranger and horticulturist, Mr George Smith at The Manor House in Heslington. The sun may not have shone, but the garden certainly did, and being Mr Smith's birthday, we were able to sing him a chorus of - guess what?! A slide show, glass of wine, chance to wander around on our own and for some people buy plants from the plant shop, made for an evening to remember. "Better than any National Trust garden I've visited," was the verdict of one of our members. And nobody argued with that.

Flamingo Magic!

A large group of Singers, all young at heart, visited Flamingoland in July - a good way to end the choir year. And although the sun did not shine all the day, it did remain dry - quite a feat for this summer. Everyone enjoyed the various rides and thrills and for some people the chance to try and escape by hot air balloon was just too great - well, there was certainly plenty of hot air!! Thanks Jan for arranging the day.

BBBC

Yes, BBBC!! Which for those of you not involved in the choir means BLOOD BROTHERS, BOWLING and CATS - as if you hadn't guessed!

Yes, the choir has been busy socialising again - do we have any time for work, I hear you asking? Two theatre visits and a competitive evening of bowling - no holds barred - has helped to pass the winter. Has anyone any photographs of the Bowling, I wonder??

Yet more good reasons to join us - and to enjoy the singing, of course.
