Calling all men . . .

Vacancies exist in the choir for men to sing bass and tenor. Please get in touch with us if you are interested in singing and would like to join us - you will get a warm welcome.

Spring into Summer

On Saturday 19th April the Singers make a welcome return visit to Ainderby Steeple, near Northallerton - by popular request! Viva la Musica! is the name of the game and once again a first half of sacred music will be followed by a selection of lighter items including a medley from West Side Story and a trip down memory lane to the 1960s.

How lovely are Thy dwellings fair

On Sunday 22nd June the choir will be returning to Easingwold Parish Church to sing Choral Evensong for the church's Patronal Festival. The music will include Harwood in Ab canticles and the anthem How lovely are Thy dwellings fair by Brahms, from his German Requiem. We hope you will be able to join us there at 6.30pm.

Summer Fizz . . .

Saturday 19th July at 7.30pm sees the choir in Sutton on Derwent for a champagne and strawberry concert in the Parish Church. Entitled Your Sweetest Notes, what better way to spend a summer's evening. We look forward to seeing you there.

SOCIAL EVENT

Look 'ere, me hearties!!

On Friday evening, 11th July the choir has a social outing to York Theatre Royal to see the Broadway version of The Pirates of Penzance by Gilbert and Sullivan. This follows successful visits during the Autumn and Winter to see Blood Bothers and Cats in Leeds at the Grand Theatre. Belonging to our choir is certainly not all work and no play!!

An Autumn First and an Autumn Return

On Saturday September 20th at 7.30pm we are looking forward to visiting Christ Church, Coatham, near Redcar for the first time. Our concert, With A Voice of Singing, will include music from OLIVER and JOSEPH AND HIS TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT as well as a selection of popular sacred items.
Then on Saturday October 4th at 8.00pm we shall be making a return visit to Fountains Abbey to sing at one of their annual series of Fountains by Floodlight concerts. This promises to be a very special occasion.
We hope you will be able to join us at one or both of these events.

Advent 2008

The Choir looks forward to its visits to Old Malton Priory where there is always a warm welcome. This year we shall be taking part in an Advent Carol Service at 11am on Sunday 30th November. Everyone is welcome to join with us as we celebrate this special season of the year.

On Saturday 13th December we shall be making a welcome return to St John's Church, Welburn for a Christmas Concert: Joy to the World. We do hope you will be able to join us in what will be an ideal start to our Christmas festivities. Tickets on the door.
We shall be featuring music by Philip Stopford, the Musical Director of St Anne's Cathedral, Dublin, and a composer of very attractive and accessible sacred music. Items to be performed will include: A Child is born in Bethlehem and Rejoice! Rejoice!
Details of Philip Stopford's music can be found at: www.ecclesium.co.uk
