It's a long way. Take the A19 THIRSK ROAD North out of York, and keep driving.

You get 3 bites of the Cherry. There are two earlier turnings signposted to TOLLERTON if you fancy it...

....but the third turning is just signposted to ALNE.

OK, it's either the WAREHILL LANE, SYKES LANE or FOREST LANE turn-offs. The first two are signposted TOLLERTON, the last one is just ALNE. Take your pick...

So, you'll either be heading North or South into ALNE, depending on whether you went through Tollerton or not.... In either case, the idea is to find MITCHELL LANE which sits in the middle of Alne, just off MAIN STREET. The Tennis Club, is then just an extension of Mitchell Lane heading North across GALE ROAD. Have a good game... If you get as far as 'Jack Hole', then you've gone FAR TOO FAR. You really shouldn't call your partner that in the middle of a match....

Appleton Roebuck Tennis Club

Appleton Roebuck can be approached through Bishopthorpe or via Copmanthorpe, off the new A64 Copmanthorpe intersection.

The Courts are situated behind the Shoulder of Mutton pub in the Village Main Street. The Pub sits back off Main Street, and there is a large Car Park behind it. The Tennis Courts are at the back of the Car Park.
