2012 Season
 | INCOMING !! - Watch out - the 2012 Season is headed your way...
Thank you, everyone. All 62 League entries this year have been received, so we can look forward to a competitive Season.
Blank scorecards have now been printed and posted out to each Club. To whom and when is detailed below. To save on postage and envelopes, I've tried to send just ONE envelope to each Club. For multi-team Clubs - it's entrusted to the recipient to distribute the cards fairly amongst your team Captains!
Please remember, that if you wish to rearrange any inconvenient fixtures, then you have only until April 29th to negotiate that with your opponents AND inform the League Secretary.
Once the Season has started, then the fixtures in place as at April 29th, must be either played or conceded. The ONLY two exceptions to this are:
1) A match is unplayable due to rain, and
2) Any fixtures on June 17th - the final day of the York Municipal tournament, provided players from your team have entered the tournament, and at least a week's notice is given of the intention to rearrange
Watch out for your new Scorecards, and click on the Mail Form in the lefthand margin, if you've any questions about the new Season.

York Municipals...
 | The York Municipal Tennis Tournament makes a welcome return in 2012 after a seven year hiatus.
The entire tournament is planned to run from Monday June 11th, for one week with the semis and finals taking place over the weekend of June 16th/17th. There are competitions for Mens, Ladies and Mixed, singles and doubles (NOT Mixed singles, obviously...!)
League Fixtures, Sunday June 17th
To encourage and facilitate entries to this much-missed tournament, the usual hard-and-fast League rule about not being able to reschedule fixtures once the Season is underway, will be relaxed for fixtures on Sunday 17th June.
If any Club enters players into the York Municipal tournaments - men obviously, but it can be as part of the Men's or Mixed competitions - and feels that their team(s) will be compromised that Sunday as a result, then they can rearrange that Sunday's fixture(s), with the approval of the League Committee.
One week's notice
You will need to give a week's notice (ie. by June 10th) to the League Secretary of the intention to rearrange the following Sunday's fixture.
The final decision on each such ad-hoc rearrangement for June 17th fixtures, will rest with the League Committee.
So, League players - IF you intend to enter the York Municipal tournaments, then you need to keep your League team Captain informed of your intentions.
Division 1 Fixtures, June 17th
There will be NO Division 1 matches initially scheduled for June 17th. It's anticipated that Division 1 players especially will be keen to enter the Municipals.
However, should Division 1 Captains reschedule pre-Season, or rained-off fixtures to June 17th, then those rescheduled fixtures themselves, will be similarly liable - with League Committee sanction - to be rearranged if Municipal tournament entries impinge significantly on team selection that Sunday.
Once & Once ONLY !!
June 17th is the ONLY Sunday to which this rearrangement concession applies. This has been agreed as a one-off to facilitate the success of the York Municipals. Everyone's co-operation would be greatly appreciated.

After welcoming SIX new teams, as well as three new Clubs to the League, and bidding adieu to Manor CS, the League now has 62 teams, from 34 different clubs competing in EIGHT Divisions. It's getting to be quite a party.
