National Challenge Cup 2004
Joy's Dream Come True
Michelle and Joy travelled down to Rushmoor Gymnastics Academy in Aldershot to take part in the National Challenge Cup 2004.
Both gymnast started on Floor performing sound routines with clean jumps and landings.
To Vault, Michelle performed a very high tucked Tsuki which landed well. Unfortunately, the judges viewed her big toe to be on the metre line and took the deduction. The judging was for this national competition was going to be stiff but fair. Joy performed her best piked Tsuki to land plum on the mat to score her best national vault score of 8.1. This was a real achievement.
To Bars and so far so good. Both girls showed secure routines and scored well. Judges were insisting on short clears being above 45 degrees to be awarded a B element.
The last piece - Beam. Both girls nailed their routines performing all their bonus elements. It paid off!!
Michelle placed 34th out of 65 gymnasts. A great competition and another go clean bear!!
Joy Placed Second overall.
Yes, you'd better believe it!
