13th November 2008.
The Environment Agency is currently carrying out flood defence work on the Donkey woods Section of the Ouse. The result is that the banks are in a dangerous state with thick mud etc., therefore the Waters Secretary has recommended that the venue is closed, due to health and safety concerns. This closure has been agreed and will operate until further notice. Clubs are being advised of match changes.

Headquarters location

The new headquarters of the Amalagamation is at :-
St. Clements Club, Count de Burgh Terrace, South Bank, York.
Directions to the club are, from the West Riding, via the A64 and A1036, turning right at Knavesmire Gates, along the Knavesmire Road, then first left along Queen Victoria Street, where you will find the club on the right at the end. From the North and East Ridings follow the inner ring road to Bishopthorpe Road, (heading towards Bishopthorpe), and take the seventh turn on the right (Balmoral Terrace), where the club is on the left at the end.

Match Programme.

Parking.
Arrangements are in hand for cars to be parked in the primary school grounds at the bottom of Count de Burgh Terrace.

See Event Calendar and published match programmesfor details of matches.

Laybourne Lakes.

(19th April 2004). Please treat the fish with respect, pleasure anglers are recommended not to use keepnets, but if they do, would they please return the fish after five hours.

In matches, two keepnets are required, one for 'silver' fish, the other for Carp. Evidence has been seen lately of fungus on the former, suggesting that that both Carp and 'silver' fish have been kept in the one net.

One of the objects of the Amalgamation is the preservation of fish and spawn.

Documentation.

(1st January 2008). The 2008 York Year Books are now available at the usual outlets. The price is £32 for a full adult book (see subscriptions page for all prices).
Eri'cs Angling Centre at Whitkirk, Leeds, is no longer selling York Books.

Laybourne News/Match Tickets.

The Laybourne Lakes matches are all Members Only. Tickets as usual from Terry Pinder. See Year book and match programmes for draw/fishing times, and match dates.
