The members of the taiko drumming group also now do school visits and workshops for schools to promote taiko drumming and Japanese culture. These can take place as part of a school-wide "Japan Day", within the music department, or even include some language input for pupils as part of a language department activity.
We can do mini taster sessions lasting 15-20 mins, hands on workshops of 50 mins - 1 hr, or longer workshops culminating in a mini performance by the pupils.
Suitable for primary and secondary pupils.
Please contact us for more details.

Tanka and Taiko
The Tanka and Taiko show is an event which blends Japan-inspired poetry and music
It will be performed at Wakefield Cathedral as part of the Wakfield Literature Festival on September 20th 2013 (Fri)
And again as part of Ilkley Lit Fest Fringe on October 5th 2013 (Sat) in the Ilkley Playhouse from 9:00pm.
Both events are free to enter.
Kaminari UK have teamed up with prolific York poets Oz Hardwick and Amina Alyal to bring you 'Tanka and Taiko'!
An energetic show of both powerful and subtle rhythmic taiko beats entwined with thought provoking and epic Tanka poetry with special guests Michael Graham on Koto / Shamisen and Anna Plews on Flute / Shinobue!
"The group on stage are experts at what they do, and what they do is send a beautiful, thumping rhythm through the whole auditorium."
