1990 - 1992

Members take official coaching courses to help development of junior section.

1991 - Men finish 2nd in North Yorkshire and South Durham League and win The Green Howards Regiment Shields Mens Trophy for most improved team.

1992 - Women win York and District Road Race Cup with men runners-up.

Men finish 2nd in North Yorkshire and South Durham League X Country out of 12 teams.

Men achieve their best ever result in the Yorkshire Road Relays.
Robert Hall, elected Club President.

Joanne Simpson selected for North Yorkshire South Durham League Inter-County Cross Country.

Club hold sports day at Rydale Stadium.

Club's 10 year anniversary celebration at The York Racecourse.

1993 - 1996

1993 - Club joins with Team Plaxton of Scarborough to run Centenary Way. Each club running half the route each starting from York Minster and Team Plaxton from Filey Brigg to meet halfway at Scagglethorpe in aid of the Ken Moss Appeal, raising £1052 for the injured Scarborough policeman. Organised by the Club Presisent, Robert Hall.

Joanne Dunstan selected for Inter-County Championships.

Club's men set record in finishing 12th in The Yorkshire Road Relays at Wakefield.

1994 - Men improve to 9th position in Yorkshire Road Relays.

Club finishes 22nd out of 156 clubs in Northern Cross Country Championships held at Chester.

Final year of Clubs'annual 10mile Jorvik Road Race.

1995 - Women finish 2nd in York and District Summer Road Race League and 2nd team in Selby and Thirsk Relays. They are 1st team in the Rowntree 10mile Road Race and Jolly Holly Jog.

Men are 1st team in Scarborough 10K Coastal Classic and in the Churwell Annual Relays.

They are 6th in the Leeds Country Way 60mile off road relays. Veterans finish 5th out of 31 in the Yorkshire Veteran Relays.

1996 - Women 2nd York and District Summer Road Race League.

Club wins York and District League Handicap Cup for 10th successive year.

Julie Bushell wins Peakland Heritage 36mile off road race in new course record time of 5hrs 47mins

1997 - 1998

1997 - Triathletes Pete and Paul Mathieson achieve personal bests in London Marathon 2hrs 57mins and 3hrs 14min.

Julie Bushell breaks womens' marathon club record
at Nottingham, time 3hrs 32mins and wins the multi-terrain Swaledale Marathon in 3hrs 57mins.

Our oldest member, Alf Pallister at 76 finished high in the London Marathon rankings for his age group clocking 4hrs 39mins. Alf, a popular and charismatic member of the club has raised thousands for charities in his many marathon races and is now an honorary life member.

1998 - Club's 12 man team finishes 5th out of 46 team in the 60mile multi-terrain Leeds Country Way.

Ultra-distance runner Gerry Orchard was 6th in the Long Score Event in the Karrimor two day Mountain Marathon (part of a two man team).

Men win veteran team title at Selby Relays and third senior mens' team. The women won 2nd team.
Sue Jones breaks womens' 10mile club record, time 66mins 45secs.

In the North Yorkshire 10K Championships at Tholthorpe Sue won 3rd veteran title and in the Cyprus Half Marathon, clocking 88mins 48secs, she collected 3 awards.

1999

Double win for Barnes

Mens' Captain Jerry Barnes (above) wins 26mile off road Falcon Flyer Challenge in treacherous, muddy conditions near Scarborough in 3hrs 50mins
and Julie Bushell was 2nd woman in 4hrs 50mins.

In the 17mile off road Osmotherly Pheonix, Jerry smashed the 1998 course record by over 10 minutes in 2hrs 23mins.

The Club enters 3 teams in the Leeds Country Way and finishes in its highest position to date,3rd.

Club enter womens' team in the first Edinburgh Marathon. Julie Bushell, even though illness impared her training schedule, was first clubwoman home in 3hrs 48mins 49secs. Julie Simpson,3hrs 52mins and Helen Barnes 4hrs 11mins in their first marathon attempts were next and Jenny Rowland completed the team.

Runners organise races at Rugby Club's Annual Gala Day. Great time had by all. Boiling hot day. Our cake stall.....they all melted! Ha!
Womens' Day Out in the Peak District,Derbyshire, organised by Gerry Orchard and Julie Bushell, another great success.

Julie Bushell took the Northern Triangle Series Title after winning the 36mile Darlington Dash in 6hrs 13mins. Her win in the 50mile Rowbotham Round Rotherham and 3rd placing in the Doncaster Doddle secured her the series trophy.

Club Secretary, Nick Ford finishes 6th overall in the off road 53 mile North Yorkshire Moors crosses, on a hot July day in 13hrs 34mins. He also has a successful debut attempt in the Saunders two day Mountain Marathon with teamate Pete Summers.

Steve Simpson led the club team to victory in the 5 X 2.6mile Selby Relays. His 13mins 42secs time was just 6 seconds behind the fastest runner, Don Weigel of Askern and District. Mike Raynes, Martin Kirby, Darrell Moore and Colin Hawxby completed the Acorn's winning team. The women were runners-up for the second year running.

Steve Simpson wins the Galtres Half Marathon in 74mins 24secs and with clubmates Martin Kirby, Colin Hawxby, Graham Thresh and Martin Vickers takes the 1st team title.
