A Winter Walk for your Xmas Wish List
Walk off the Christmas pud with the Ramblers Association's "Festival of Winter Walks" between Boxing Day December 26th 2008 through to January 4th 2009
The Ramblersı Association* (RA) is holding its 20th annual Festival of Winter Walks from Boxing Day 26th December to 4th January. Britain's biggest walking festival now attracts over 15,000 people annually. There's nothing nicer than wrapping up warm and heading out on a beautiful winter's day on one of over 400 free walks from short easy-going ambles to full-day hikes across the country organised by local RA groups. For details of all these walks see: www.ramblers.org.uk/winterwalks
RA Festival co-ordinator Mariusz Wilczynski said: "The festival is a great launch pad for those who have resolved to improve on their health and fitness in 2008/09 and just need a little bit more encouragement." Everybody is invited to join us on any of the following walks in East Yorkshire, Vale of York or North York Moors organised & led by local RA Group members
Full membership of the RA is £27, if you decide to join after the walk there's a 20% reduction - making it a lot cheaper than joining a gym!
Please come prepared for December weather: wear suitable boots, warm clothes, and bring waterproofs (and warm drink and food for walks over 6 miles).
