The Yorkshire Ouse Sailing Club
 | Yorkshire Ouse Sailing Club was formed in 1938, and has been based at it’s premises in Naburn since then.
The club offers friendly but competitive fleet racing for National 12 and Enterprise dinghies and also has a handicap fleet which currently includes boats such as Streakers, and Toppers.
Racing takes place on Sundays from mid- March through to early November, and on Wednesday evenings from mid April to late July. Members are allowed free access to the facilities, including the slipway, and can sail at anytime.
The club offers a thriving social calendar, with events ranging from a formal Black Tie Dinner Dance and Prize-giving at the end of the season to more informal events such as barbecues and events in the Clubhouse. Our bar, which is open to members and their guests is open each Wednesday evening.
For general club racing the club utilizes the area from the old Railway Bridge upstream to the Naburn Lock downstream, and on a number of occasions throughout the year races to the new Millenium bridge (we can’t get under that) are also held.
The Club welcomes new members and we hope that you will be encouraged to come along and join us. |
